Please Note: Internships are UNPAID and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Course Credit is available.

Resume and Cover Letter are required. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred) and good character. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. students must still be enrolled in school during the time of the internship). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply.

Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program. Only J1 or F1 visas will be accepted.

Deadline to apply for Summer Internships is March 12, 2010. Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner’s Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis. Future semester Internship postings will be available after the current semester deadline.

Department Description: NBA Digital oversees all operations for NBA.com, NBA TV and NBA League Pass. NBA Digital is part of the Turner Sports and Entertainment Digital Network, the premier company for online sports and entertainment applications. This position would be with NBA.com editorial, which oversees the day-to-day production of NBA.com, including all editorial, multimedia and interactive content on the NBA’s official league Web site.


Qualifications: Strong NBA knowledge with background in sports journalism. Web savvy. Experience with Web 2.0 technologies (blogs/Facebook/Twitter etc.). Passion for sports, basketball and online media. Good editing skills and knowledge of AP style. Energetic and enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys working under pressure. Experience writing for media organization or student web/print publication. Basic Photoshop and HTML skills a plus. Please include writing samples.


Duties: The editorial intern would assist in the daily production of NBA.com, including editing stories, creating compelling web packages, blog writing and NBA.com section producing. The intern will help create news packages, find interesting angles to NBA stories, create photo galleries and assist with game night coverage. Intern will help update all 30 NBA teams sites on game nights.
